OUR PARK NEEDS YOUR HELP NOW !

Do you or your family use our park, playground or clubhouse. Will your kids use it in future ?. If so we need your support now. You can help keep our park going for less than the price of a cup of coffee each week !

Our club is under pressure to maintain our park and playground costs and to keep our payments on the club loans on the park. With COVID we have lost all our funding sources and are completely reliant on our community supporting our 50/50 draw.

We spent additional club funding on the playground and park in Q4 2020 which has added to our financial pressures. This was on top of our ECO park project. and with builders on site was too good an opportunity not to get the work done. A small example is the updating of the youth playground with additional chippings, surrounds and updating grass area cost over €4,500 directly from club funds.

The park development draw will support the bank and personal loans which the club have taken on to develop and maintain the community park in Strandhill. The club has invested €1.3m in the park since its inception and is just completing a €250,000 project. The latest project will see a floodlit community walkway, spectator facilities and convert the park into an environmentally friendly park - called ECO Park.

The 50/50 draw is very simple. 50% of the income is paid out in prize money each month !. This is unusual as it is a high percentage but the club wants to ensure good prize money for those joining the draw.

The draw only costs €10 each month - the equivalent cost of a cup of coffee each week !.

Our target is to get 200 people so that we can service the debt on the park development and ongoing maintenance costs. We will publish progress each week and there will be a progress board up on the clubhouse. Join NOW and help the club make its target !.

The draw takes place on the first Thursday of the month in the Strand Celtic Clubhouse, subject to COVID guidance. Winners will be contacted by phone and will be published on the club website..
