There was great delight in the club when news filtered through that our under 16 player, Emma Hansberry, had made it into the Republic of Ireland girls U17 world cup squad for the forthcoming world cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

Our under 16 girls team, who have done an outstanding job this season in claiming their league title, went down to a strong Saint Francis team in the national cup semi-final on Saturday afternoon last.

Our girls under 16 team made history for the club when they beat Limerick in the National Cup quarter final to become the first team to make the national cup semi-final.

This was a great achiveement by the girls and they now look forward to the national cup semi final in august. Well done to all the girls and their team management.

Our under 12 girls were so unfortunate to go down by the narrowest of margins on Sunday afternoon last in the girls under 12 league final. The game was settled by a greta finish by the Gurteen centre forward with just three minutes on the clock. Despite some pressure our girls could not grab that goal they had fought so hard for in order to send the game into extra time

Strand Celtic captured the Division One Under 14 title in a high;ly entertaining and close game against Calry Bohemians on thursday night last at a windy Strandhill Community Park. After a difficult opening half Strand stormed back to win the title.

The clash that no one wanted unfortunately materialised in the semi final of the U14 division one on Wednesday night last at Strandhill community park. While the result was probablay never in question once the white team took the led the green squad kept battling hard throughout the game.
