Our under 16's recorded a superb victory over a strong Manorhamilton Rangers side in the under 16 league final at the Showgrounds last night. This was a marvellous achievement for manager Michael McDonagh and his side and a deserved reward for a great season.

It was heartbreak for our girls tonight as they narrowly fell at the final hurdle with an extra time defeat to Yeats United in the girls under 16 final at the showgrounds.

The showgrounds beckons and cup final night after this fantastic victory for our under 16 boys on Thursday night. On a wild night we qualified by the narrowest of margins with a one goal victory.

Strand Celtic senior team fell just short on friday night last in their league title clash with rivals city united at sean Fallon park. In front of a large crowd our lads went down by the odd goal in three and sees them now rely on other teams beating City United in their remaining three games.

It was derby day at strandhill community park on Saturday morning last in the first ever derby game within strand celtic football club. Honors were even between the two teams on the day which was a fair outcome from a good game.

Strand Celtic U12 girls win Connacht Plate in Castlebar on Saturday with a 1 - 0 victory over Cliffoney Grange.

Our under 16 captain made her intrnational debut for the Republic of Ireland girls under 17 side in Poland in a triangular tournament this week. Well done to Bronagh and all her family on playing for her country.

A brillant strike by Emma Hansberry sealed a cup double for Strand Celtic in the girls under 14 league final against a gallant Dromore Villa side.

UNDER 16 GIRLS FINAL: STRAND CELTIC 12 GLENVIEW STARS 3

Strand Celtic produced a superb display of football to dethrone reigning girls under champions glenview stars at the showgrounds. Bronagh Kerins and Emma Hansberry were the stars for strand, as between them they scored ten of their sides goals. The final scoreline was very harsh on glenview but strand were deserving winners.
