Our under eight squad for the sligo-leitrim futsal tournament at Sligo IT will be selected on satruday afternoon next at colts training, weather permitting.

Former Strand Celtic and Sligo Rovers player, John Lynch, was appointed as the manager of our senior team last week.

The club are running a football camp over the halloween break for all kids between the ages of 8 and 12.

The Republic of Ireland women’s under 17 side kicked off their UEFA Championship, first qualifying phase with a hard earned victory over Turkey. Bronagh KErins played the full ninety minutes in the game.

Our under squad had a tough outing on Sunday afternoon last when they participated in the FAI emerging talent blitz in the showgrounds.

Everyone at the club was delighted to hear of Emma Hansberry’s call up for an international trial with Ireland girls on Saturday last in Dublin.

Well done to three of our under 14 squad who have made it to the final trial for the Sligo-Leitrim under 13 squad.

Last weekend was a red letter day for all coaches within our club as we had a weekend coach education seminar with Austin Speight, Head of Coerver UK & I Coaching. The weekend was a great success and was well supported by all our coaches.

As part of the clubs plan for coaching development the club intends to work with Coerver coaching over the coming months to help our coaches and their players. Austin Speight, Head of Coerver UK & Ireland, will now travel to Strandhill on the weekend of September 26th/27th and 28th to work with the Strand Celtic coaches from all of our teams.

Our Colts coaches held their annual start of season meeting in Bree’s on Friday night last.
