There was great delight in the club when news filtered through that our under 16 player, Emma Hansberry, had made it into the Republic of Ireland girls U17 world cup squad for the forthcoming world cup in Trinidad and Tobago.

Our Glasgow Celtic camp run over the last week was an outstanding success with a full camp under the organisation of camp director, Brian Redmond.

Strand Celtic U16 player Emma Hansberry has been called up to the Republic of Ireland U17 International Squad by manager Noel King.

Our annual trip to our friends at Salthill Devon was a great success with everyone enjoying themselves and our hosts were brillant as ever.

The Sligo Rovers first team squad will train with the Strand Celtic nippers, colts and soccer sisters squads at tomorrows, May 22nd, training session in Strandhill Community Park.

Our annual trip for our Soccer Sisters and Colts trip to galway is et for Sunday May 30th. As ever we will be hosted by our good friends Salthill Devon for the day.

The world famous AJAX football club, who have been European Champions on four ocasions, made their inagural visit to the north west to present a coach education session at the grounds of Strand Celtic football club.

The club hosted a Celtic soccer camp all week and it was an outstanding success. The weather was fantastic, the camp was full and the coaching top drawer making for a great week.

Well done to local lad Barry O Mahoney who came on for Ireland Schoolboys against Wales in the Carengie shield on Thursday evening last.
