Strand Celtic under 12 had their first outing of the season with a good competitive game against an excellent Ballisodare side.
While the scoreline was comprehensive in the end the game was competitive throughout and it was only in the latter stages that Strand Celtic pulled away. After a good opening ,in which goalkeeper Matthew Cosgrove had to show why he is one of the best at this level with several fine saves, Celtic took the lead when Cathal HEnry fired home from close range.
Matthew Cosgrove pulled off a super save from Peter Quigley just after this to prevent an equaliser. Just before half time Cian McGovern grabbed a second.
In the second half further goals from Mark McCallion and Ryan McManus sealed victory. Ballisodares goal was an excellent counter attack which saw Peter quigley fire home after an initial save from Matthew Cosgrove.
