Our under 16 player Emma Hansberry made history when she became the first sligo person ever to feature in a FIFA World Cup at any level.

Emma came on during Ireland three nil win over Ghana that saw them top the group and now head to a world cup quarter final. Irelands opponenets in Fridays quarter final will be Japan who lost to spain but had comfortable wins over NEw Zealand and Venezuala.

The game is scheduled for midnight on friday irish time and the club are planning to continue the TV viewing in the bella vista from 11:30 on friday night. All are welcome as there has been a great atmosphere for all of the games so far.
