Strand Celtic have announced a great new fund raiser called PICK A WINNER. Simply pick two teams each week from the premiership and after ten weeks if you are top of the table you can win €500.

The rules are as follows:

[A] Commencing with the English Premiership fixtures on the 6th March 2010 (Round 1) through to
the 9th May 2010 (Round 10) select 2 teams that you think will win a league game that weekend
(Saturday, Sunday or Monday). The only condition is that you cannot select a team that you previously selected. In other words you can only select a team once in the whole competition.

[B] If either of the teams that you have selected to win, win, you will be awarded 3 points. If your selected teams win and it is an ‘away’ fixture, you will be awarded 1 ‘bonus’ point. If your selected teams win and score 3 or more goals, you will be awarded 0.5 ‘bonus’ point. If your selected teams win and keep a clean sheet you will be awarded 0.5 ‘bonus’ point. If your team draw or loses you will be awarded 0 points.

The maximum score you can achieve each round is 10 points. (5 points per team - but there is one exception).

In any of the rounds 2 –10, you can nominate one as your ‘Joker round’. You will receive double points for your ‘Joker round’.


[C] Your selection each round must be sent by email to paulhiggins36@hotmail.com by 7pm on Wednesday as advised on the fixtures list. Any change to this deadline will be advised to players in advance.


N.B. Should you not record your selection on time – In the first instances you will be assigned (for that round) the highest ranking teams in the Premiership table at that time which you have not selected to date. ‘(No bonus points will be awarded to allocated teams.] Failure to record your selection after one allocation – NO TEAM WILL BE ENTERED FOR THAT ROUND.


[D] The winner will be the player with most points at the end of the competition.

[E] Should one or more players tie at the end of the competition the prize money will be shared.

[F] The entry fee for ‘Pick-A-Winner 2010’ is €20. The fee is payable in advance.

[G] The prize fund will be determined by the number of entries in the competition. However if the
competition goes ahead €500 is guaranteed to the winner.

[H] Should any fixture not be played on the appointed date, fixtures will be carried over until played
at a later date.

[I] Strand Celtic Football Club Committee’s decisions are final in all matters
