AGM OUTLINES SUCCESSFUL YEAR FOR THE CLUB

Our annual general meeting took place in The Strand Bar on Wednesday evening the 3rd of June. The meeting was well attended with good representation from all sections.

Chairman Mick McEnroe opened the meeting with a joint secretaries/chairmans report tht covered the wide range of activites that were undertaken in the club this year. The report was comprehensive covering:

- Youth academy
- Colts and Nippers Academy
- Soccer Sisters
- Senior section
- Club development
- Club tours
- Public relations
- Sponsorship
- Coaching

The chairman thanked the committee’s for their support and work during the year and also thanked the Managers, Coaches and Assistants for all their excellent work. He also thanked the Parents for supporting our fund raising events and for acting as taxi’s all year!. He also thanked all our Sponsors that provided the necessary funds to allow us to run the club and make progress on our Development Plan.

Warm tributes were also given to trustee, Jim Reddington, who is stepping down after many years. Jim has been a great servant to the club. In addition thanks were expressed to Philip McMahon, Phhilip Gray and Liam Cashel who are stepping down from the committee.

Club treasurer, Cathal Stevenson, presented a very comprehensive report which showed the club in the black at the end of May 2009. The treasurer was complimented on his accounts for the year and for all his work over the last five years as he is now stepping down from the position. Cathal has been a great treasurer and indeed supporter of the club over many years and assured all that he will continue to be a strong supporter of the club.

On the night chairman, Mick McEnroe, and Secretary, Maurice Monaghan, were returned to their positions as was vice-chairman, Michael Cox. In addition the following additional people were elected to the committee:

Youths Academy rep – AJ Cogan
Colts Academy rep – Eammon Kielty
Nippers Academy rep – Jorge Corriea

Brian McDermott and Donagh Oates were also elected on the evening. A number of people also agreed to serve on a social committee to assist in organising a small number of events each year. Two other new members who had expressed a wish to join the committee were also considered and can be confirmed with their attendance at the first new committee meeting. A number of the other existing committee members were returned unopposed. Chairman Mick McEnroe all those people who put their names forward on the evening and acknowledged the support from people in the club.

The club is structured so that people can come on to any of the sub-committees or take on a specific role to spread the load across the committee membership.
