The Sligo-Leitrim Schoolboys and Schoolgirls league will commence on august 16th this year. While firm details are not known it is expected that the first saturday will see the U14 and U18 squads in action.

Our under 14 girls player, Emma Hansberry, scooped the Sligo Post sports star of the week. A great achievement for a player so young and caps a fantastic week for Emma.

A successful annual general meeting was held in the strand bar at 9pm last tuesday. Club chairman mick mcenroe, on behalf of himself and club secretary philip gray, outlined the significant strides the club has made over the last twelve months, both on and off the field of play.

A brillant strike by Emma Hansberry sealed a cup double for Strand Celtic in the girls under 14 league final against a gallant Dromore Villa side.

Strand Celtic produced a superb display of football to dethrone reigning girls under champions glenview stars at the showgrounds. Bronagh Kerins and Emma Hansberry were the stars for strand, as between them they scored ten of their sides goals. The final scoreline was very harsh on glenview but strand were deserving winners.

The club's annual general meeting has been changed to 9pm to facilitate members and supporters who want to attend the girls under 14 league final in the Showgrounds against Dromore Villa.

The AGM is now at 9m in the Strand Bar on tuesday 15th July.

Strand Celtic Football Club have announced details of a major golf classic to be held in Strandhill golf club on Friday 22nd august. Club chairman, Mick McEnroe, recently announced details of the golf classic at Strandhill golf club at a launch event.

Strand Celtic recently held their sod turning ceremony for their new clubhouse at Strandhill Community Park in the heart of Strandhill village. Minister of state, Jimmy Devins, supported by other local politicians performed the turning of the initial sod.

The final will be played against Dromore Villa in The Showgrounds on Tuesday July 15th. Kick off at 7 pm.

Strand Celtic U16 Girls play Glenview Stars in the League Final on Monday night (July 14th) with a 7 pm kick off. The will be played in The Showgrounds.
